Acceptable use policy
These rules apply to everyone who sends email through MailSequoia. They are short on purpose.
Last updated October 11, 2026
1. Follow the law
Email you send through MailSequoia must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act, and with any other law that applies to you and to the people you write to.
2. Be truthful about who is sending
The name and the address your email comes from, and the address replies go to, must identify the real sender. Do not send under a borrowed name or pretend to be someone you are not.
3. Write truthful subject lines
The subject line must reflect what the email is about. A subject written to trick someone into opening the email breaks this rule.
4. Honor opt-outs promptly
When someone asks you to stop writing to them, stop. Do it promptly, and never later than the law allows.
5. Remove bounces
When an email bounces because the address no longer works, take that address off your lists. MailSequoia also stops sending to bounced addresses, and to people who report your email as spam, automatically. Do not try to get around that.
6. Send nothing deceptive or illegal
No scams, no harmful attachments or links, no fraud, no impersonation, and nothing that is illegal to send.
7. Abuse reports
Anyone can report email sent through MailSequoia to abuse@mailsequoia.com. The report abuse page explains what to include.
8. If a sender breaks these rules
We can pause or end sending for anyone who breaks this policy.
