If you received an email through MailSequoia that you did not want, or that looks deceptive, send it to us.

abuse@mailsequoia.com

What to include

  • The email itself. Forward it to us, as an attachment if your mail app offers that.
  • The address that received it.
  • A sentence on what is wrong: you opted out and it kept coming, it is pretending to be something it is not, or it is simply not something you want.

Why the original email matters

Every email carries a hidden record of where it came from. Forwarding the email as an attachment keeps that record; a screenshot loses it. If your mail app has an option called something like "Show original", copying what it shows works too.

That record is how we work out who sent the email.

What a report is used for

  • To work out which sender the email came from.
  • To put your address on that sender's do-not-send list, so the email stops.
  • To decide whether the sender broke our acceptable use policy. We can pause or end sending for anyone who did.

If you only want the email to stop

Reply to the email and say so, or use the opt-out it offers. Senders on MailSequoia are required to honor that. If they do not, tell us at abuse@mailsequoia.com.

Not sure it came through MailSequoia?

Send it anyway. The original email shows where it came from, and that tells us whether it was one of ours.
